It feels good to own a blog! It is even better to have a blog for your small business! Blogging is a powerful tool and an excellent way to communicate and create a brand image for your Company.

So, how does one get started blogging?

First and foremost, you will need to purchase hosting and your domain.

Next step is to download WordPress and login. That’s it – get going!

Big question is about what to write when blogging?

Answer: — Who specifically is your “TARGETED AUDIENCE YOU ARE WANTING TO REACH THROUGH YOUR BLOG”?

Think why you have created the blog?  You must be having something to share – experiences, talk about your products, services – anything you wish to convey.

And what problems have you solved that will save time and be valuable to other people!

NB: This is just the way to get started – you need patience and motivation to continue blogging and you are simply going to love it.

Websites basic set up

“This is the seventh week after we started this social media class, we may not become a professional blogger but we are not rookies either. We started our blog step by step by following Professor Bill Belew’s instruction and now we own a website which indeed drives some visitors online. In the past, people thought blog and website as two different stuff. People thought website is the only tool to promote your business and blog is just a type of website that most people share information and articles for readers to subscribe. However, things are changed, blog is no longer a tool that only to share information but can actively promote things you want to promote with. Here are some steps and tips that I want to share with you if you want to start your own blog.

How to create your own blog:

To own a blog, you need to purchase hosting and domain first. Here, I want to show you where we purchased our hosting and domain: BM2 Hosting and Domains and it is easy and safe. Just pay for the domain and hosting and you are all set.

In the second step, you need to download WordPress and log-in with your domain and host you just replied. After everything’s ready then the last thing that needs to be ready is us.

Although I am not a professional blogger, but after 7 weeks writing, I have some tips that I want to share with you and hopefully these tips could be useful to you.
