Do we need an evolution of  how we have personally constructed our mind?  Likely we do; so exercising the grey matter is a perfect way to go!

As an educator, I contend we need a major overhaul of elements of ‘our education system’? Should we insist on a teaching pedagogy of mind matters, of creativity and of entrepreneurial spirit or should we get back to the basics, or both? There seems great energy about now to re-engineer our priorities. Mindset does matter.  Let`s teach about it, as a top priority?

What do you say about building future societies?

Which path should our society follow? What are the real pillars of a ‘more conscious’ society?  Is our society careless about teaching thinking skills and careless about teaching the skills of deep questioning?

So what about today`s adults?

A focus on mind matters plus more options for wealth building and financial independence …. will likely lead to building a new and better future. What do you think?

Building financial wealth for the us requires a systematic purposeful action; products and services which enhance and enable wealth creation and which in turn can enable lifestyle quality to grow.

I wonder what difference there would have been in my life`s journey had I understood the true meaning of financial independence?  Would my now-life circumstances have been very different? How much was I de-powered because of the lack of knowledge?

My education was typical of most baby boomers.  I grew up in a very small country town, both parents worked and sport was the basis of life, summer and winter through! I travelled 60 kilometres daily for 7 years from Reynella (South Australia) to Adelaide to complete my secondary and tertiary education. (great choice by my parents!).

But, while my education was standard for the times – academic and exacting, it lacked any mention of business, management and entrepreneurship -and finances.  The mindset of those times was one more related to generations/people recovering from wars and recession; about survival and betterment; about the a concept of having more – to escape from a life of near poverty, one of lack of choice and having-to-just-get-by!

Today, I believe we are more conscious! And there`s certainly greater opportunities for all of us.

What do you believe and feel about attention to mindset?  Do more active and creative mindsets need to prevail for the new times?

New thinking, new teaching, uniqueness and entrepreneurship in it`s widest interpretation needs to be championed!  …  But only if we truly want to have real personal choice, real opportunities, true freedom – real use of time! …  to be, to work, to serve, to travel and, and, and… abounding – choice!

Let’s analyze some outstanding ways other businesses have created their brand marketing strategy which you can easily apply in your own company:

1. Share Stuff That Already Works

The U.S. Department of the Interior has been using social media to show the world what they do. Instead of just sharing content about policies and press releases, they also share stunning landscape photos and videos of cute animals in the national parks they manage.

The department’s Senior Digital Strategist, Rebecca Matulka, says, people often use their social posts to plan vacations or be reminded about past family trips to the parks. Even their videos of bears alone get hundreds of retweets on Twitter.

If a governmental department can create content using adorable animals and breathtaking landscapes, you can also connect to something that people like to share, too.

2. Weird Experiences

Another example is Catbird Creamery in Maine, when you order a conventional flavor, they’ll insist that you also try something a little more adventurous. And even if you’re going to order vanilla anyway, they would still want you to at least try the strawberry balsamic or green tea ginger. Catbird knows that anyone can make a good vanilla, but what makes them remarkable is helping their customers try out all of the other fantastic flavors the brand also make.

They give their customers an experience to talk about. The point is, even if the customer doesn’t order the hot pepper flavor they just sampled, they will likely tell others they have tasted it.

3. Mobile Apps and Charmin!

Do you think you can’t come up with a fun, creative and at the same time, practical way to sell toilet paper? Well, Charmin did. Although it’s not exactly social media, their app does make that-thing- that-shall- not- be-named a little easier, with mapped out directions to all the restrooms in a given area. Unsurprisingly though, you can rate the public restrooms through the app as to whether they “Sit”(like) or “Squat” (dislike).

Truth is, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars for an iPhone programmer to create an app. There are already available online template-based services like Seattle Clouds which make it easy for anyone to point and click their way to a custom app using a variety of layouts and setups. The resulting app can be used on Amazon Kindle, Apple iPhone and iPad and Android devices, so you’re covered no matter which device your target audience uses.

4. Mystery

Are you mysterious? Or do you think you can be? Just see how people are delighted with the puzzle-solving aspect of pattern recognition. Now, if we go a bit deeper and explore what drives this pattern seeking behavior, we find: curiosity.

A good thing about great storytellers is that they know how to turn an ordinary event—say, a trip to the grocery—into a suspenseful one by withholding information. Even in new relationships, flirtation often involves some element of playful teasing, whether through conversation or more sensual revelations.

And newsrooms have made a science out of crafting irresistible headlines: “Your PC might be infected!” or “Are you prepared for the tax law changes?”

Human nature includes that we are captivated by unanswered questions. So what you should do is try and put this mystery to good use.

5. Target’s View

Target is one of those companies that do a great job of creating a Life and Entertainment-style online magazine with great tips on recipes, fashion, and managing major life events like back-to- school and the holidays. They drag their bold brand and fashion on a budget approach to life with the stories they tell. With tips like 9 Ramen Hacks For Your College Dorm, how could they go wrong?

You should be like Target, and focus on serving your audience while at the same time bringing your brand to life in an authentic and engaging way.

6. Make People Feel Special

Comodo restaurant in New York encourages customers to snap pictures of their meals and contribute them to an “Instagram Menu” by adding #ComodoMenu to their posts.

It’s actually a perfect way to collect all of their recommendations and photos in one place, but more importantly, it makes their contributors feel like a part of the restaurant.

It is a well-known fact nowadays that customers often take Instagram photos of their fancy dinners. So, why not get the most out of your brand marketing by making those customers feel special? Related post: Secrets to the Lego Marketing Campaigns … Effective Marketing?

7. Find Unique Ways to Give

Meathead Movers is a Los Angeles moving company, and in addition to their standard moving business, they also lend a hand to people in domestic abuse situations move out safely, and quickly, and for no charge at all. What they do is every time they open up a new location, they never forget to contact the nearest women’s shelter to tell them about the service they offer.

In fact, it has become a point of pride for their employees and has been a part of their mission statement. Now, they’ve also promoted this idea to other businesses in their communities to help victims of domestic violence start over with services like rental locating, oil changes, security systems, haircuts and counseling.

Charitable giving goes much further when you also create awareness for the cause. Instead of just writing a check, Meathead Movers makes their cause much more visible and community oriented.

8. Create Surprise

We are pretty sure that you have seen all the tear jerker commercials for abused or abandoned puppies or kittens. They are not something you’ll often share with friends, is it? Albeit, North Carolina’s Wake County SPCA tried a very different approach to this problem. They made a lip-synching music video to ABBA’s song “Take a Chance on Me” with the entire shelter staff and most of the adoptable animals.

Are you wondering if it was a success? It was watched on YouTube over 3.4 million times the last time we looked. Just because others do the standard tearjerker videos doesn’t mean they are popular. The lesson is is this: Surprise your audience with original things that are fun and approachable like what SPCA did. Even you may be surprised.

I too felt that there are no good jobs left in America. Where are the jobs – I often said to myself.

Another belief I had was the lack of opportunities for women in trades. Women often feel negative and believing that they do not have enough opportunities in some trade, which is completely a myth. These were some of the myths which were indeed baseless but which keep us away from trying out opportunities.

These are self created obstacles which cause a hindrance in our career path. The amazing explanations offered by Mike show his great thinking ability, his vision clarity, and focus.

To be successful online selling your information products in the e.learning niche, you must have a sales funnel. Every successful info-product marketer has one, so you need one too. There are a million different ways to put together a sales funnel, but the ascension model is very popular among most top online marketers – the reason being, ‘they make economic sense when done right’.

Ascension business modelLet’s look at the basic principles of an ascension marketing model and why it makes sense.

The basic premise is to move people through your sales funnel from low to high priced products. When people start in the sales funnel, they can’t advance without buying the product in front of them essentially. They get introduced to the first product at an ‘entry level’ price. That might be a $7 or $17 product (we call this a Trip Wire), most likely being a 1 hour product of high educational value to the target audience.

This has effectively allowed us to acquire a Customer with the objective of the trip wire product to establish enough trust with the Customer that they can be offer and sold another higher priced product.

When they buy, they’ll be introduced to the next product, which might be a 3 hour course for $97 (as an example).

After that, another product in the sales funnel will be offered essentially ascending in value to the end Customer and Price. This may be a 5-10 hour course ranging from $297 to $497 as an appropriate example for the third products in the tiered-product mix. Finally, the last product in the funnel is the top-tier product you have. Typically, this will be a 10-20 hour course for $997 to $1,997 or above. It could be group coaching, personal coaching, a home study course, whatever!

Ascension business modelThis model really only requires 4 different levels of tiered products to make it work. Think of the model as a filtering process, where only the right people for you buy your best products. Obviously you’re going to have fewer buyers at each level, but the revenue gained from the higher priced products is well worth it. If you do the math with 1000 subscribers and only 20% buying from each level, the money made starts to stack up the economics of the cost associated with acquiring customers (hence the term economics).

Ascension impacts Economics

Most Online Marketers struggle with the economics of their business for the valuable lesson you have learned above. Your marketing and sales funnel MUST have these key attributes;

  • value
  • ascension
  • tiered product mix pricing
  • filtering
  • automated follow up
  • conversion tactics / actions

Whilst the above example showcased 4 tiers in the product mix to a high ticket offer of $1,997 (as an example). The real High Ticket Affiliate Marketing models (known as the HTAM method), have ascension through a tiered-product mix like this;

  • $5k, $10k, $15k and up to $30k

These are usually associated with LIVE events, Workshops or Licensing business models similar to Franchising (so the Customer may be purchasing and end-to-end turn-key business system and ready to market products and services).

Conclusion

The good thing about the Ascension Model is it’s easy to start with. It makes the most sense because you only want people who are serious to buy your products. This model is also easy to grow with as you can add more products to each level as your business scales and grows (and also to meet existing Customer demands).

This model is also easy to automate with email auto-responder systems that do all of the follow up work and thinking for you (when setup correctly). This model is the easiest for consistent income, particularly if one of your products is a monthly subscription – continuity program. If you know where each level converts at (we call this conversion metrics), you can forecast your income for every 10, 100 or 1,000 subscribers to your email list.

One thing you might want to consider is to think of other ways to help them on how to aid themselves and teach them not to be dependent to other people all their lives.

A Combination

Among these statements, which do you think is true?

  1. One of life’s goals is to promote a helpful community where people help one another.
  2. One of life’s goals is to help ‘yourself’ first, be successful and give chance to others to do the same thing for themselves.

Undeniably, there is no rule in life that obliges you to help others. Perhaps the mix of both statements is a fact: Be determined to be successful in your personal life and while doing so, you can also help others.

The Proof Is in the Doing

Those people who help others don’t necessarily mean that they are more prosperous in life. There’s no research or even mathematical explanation about this. Though, if you help other people, you feel more contented, you appreciate more of what you have in life, you become happier and become a good example to others. Those people perceive connection to the society and they understand more of others feelings. This makes their existence longer.

Helping Is a Natural Part of Who You Are

Helping is a part of you. It shows from your simple act of concern to other people. It is mostly shown at home from trying to help household choirs, to handing over things to your parents if they ask you something.

People say that all human beings are born naturally good. Thus, children already have that genuine thoughtfulness to other person who is in need. From your early childhood, you already longed to give help to your family. This is natural as they are the ones who raise you and loved you from the day you were born.

This trait can sometimes be carried out until you grow older, not only to your family but also to your friends and the society.

In the world of business, some people believe that there is a tight competition among businessmen and there is no room to display mercy. Well the truth is, there are a lot of opportunities out there. Expand your circle to others. Referring and introducing your contacts who are in need of talented individuals for their business is a good way to start for you to share.

  1. Talk It Up

The power of social media and word of mouth. If you have any place, site, book, movie or business that inspires you and really affect you, share it to others and talk to them about it.

  1. When You Pass, Pass It On

There are opportunities that come in your life that is not fitted to your passion or circumstances, so instead of letting it passes by, inform others as they might be the right person for the job.

  1. Get Personal with Customers

In order to get more sales, is to understand the need of your customer. To be able to relate to what they feel is what makes them think that you are not just a business person trying to win them for sales but also to make them feel that you are concern to what they need. Study what you are ought to present before meeting a client and prepare ideas to help them solve their problems. In this way, you can get personal.

  1. Be Consistent

Make it as a habit. Do it on a regular basis and get it in your system. This will lift your values and believe that if you do good deeds, everything will be on its rightful place. Keep the faith and thoughtful spirit!

When young Americans complain they can’t find a decent job, ask them a simple question: Who have you called or written to lately?

Steve Jobs is a legend for what he did at Apple (AAPL, Tech30). But even legends have to get their start somewhere.

For Jobs, it all began with a phone call.

“When I was 12, I called up Bill Hewlett,” the president of Hewlett-Packard (HPQ, Tech30), Jobs said.

Join CNN Films for the TV premiere of “Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine” on Sunday, January 3, at 9 p.m. ET on CNN and CNNgo.

Hewlett answered the phone himself, and Jobs recalled telling him: “Hi, I’m Steve Jobs. You don’t know me, but I’m 12 years old, and I’m building a frequency counter and I’d like some spare parts.”

The conversation lasted a few minutes. Hewlett gave Jobs the parts — and a summer job at HP.

“I’ll never forget it as long as I live,” Jobs said in a 1995 interview. It enabled him to see the first desktop computer ever made.

Young Americans can’t get the jobs they want

The problem now isn’t so much that America’s 20-somethings can’t get jobs, it’s that they can’t get the jobs they actually want.

Over 44% of recent college graduates are underemployed, according to the New York Federal Reserve. That means that despite earning that college degree, they’re working in jobs that don’t require that qualification.

People who do a lot of hiring say 21 and 22-year-olds just don’t get it. They fire off resumes online without much thought.

That’s not how people who landed coveted jobs got them.

Just ask Mei-Mei Tuan and Andy McFee.

Aim high by reaching out to senior leaders

Mei-Mei Tuan is a Wall Street success story. She started at Goldman Sachs (GS) in New York and later moved to Bank of America (BAC) in San Francisco in the early days of project finance. Now she runs her own Wall Street firm, Notch Partners.

“Leverage the networks that you have,” says Tuan. “You don’t lose anything by shooting high.”

As a junior at Wellesley College in 1987, she typed a letter (yes, on a typewriter) to Jeanette Loeb, the first female partner at Goldman Sachs who was also a graduate of Wellesley.

It was a brief letter, but it was sincere — and aimed at the top.

Loeb called her and invited her to come to New York to have lunch over spring break. The rest is history.

Tuan is now on the other side of the hiring wall as the co-founder of Notch Partners.

“For every person we hire, we probably look at 100 resumes,” says Tuan.

The people who have stood out the most to her over the years are those who really took the time to learn about the company — and say how they could add value.

Two jobs candidates even came in with PowerPoint presentations about what they could do to help move Notch Partners forward.

Don’t just wait for a job ad to appear

Andy McFee is another person who’s been “really lucky” in landing a dream career. He’s the chief referee on the European Golf Tour.

“I took a different path. I’ve been very very fortunate to watch a game I absolutely love right at the front seat,” says McFee.

He’s walked the world’s greatest golf courses alongside Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy, among others.

For McFee, it all started with a speculative letter he wrote the summer of 1980 to the head of the British Professional Golf Association. He had just graduated from the University of Leeds .

“If you know there is something out there and you want to be a part of it, be proactive,” says Andy McFee. “Don’t wait for a job ad to appear.”

In many ways, McFee was lucky. His letter landed on the desk of the head of the British PGA the very day someone else resigned. He recalls posting his letter on a Friday and getting a call on Monday to come for an interview.

But the point is he never would have gotten that call without writing the letter.

Standing out with a letter still works today

It’s easy to claim the life stories of Steve Jobs, Mei-Mei Tuan and Andy McFee couldn’t happen today.

But just because smartphones and emails have replaced typewritten letters doesn’t mean that actually writing a smart missive or calling someone at the top isn’t the way to go.

Matthew Ross is the author of the “brutally honest” cover letter that became famous on Wall Street in 2013.

When he wrote to an executive at Duff and Phelps to ask for an internship, he said he “won’t waste your time inflating my credentials, throwing around exaggerated job titles, or feeding you a line of crap about how my past experiences and skill set align perfectly for an investment banking internship.”

It worked. He got an interview, a summer internship and, later, a job at the company.

Standing out is more important than ever.

The reality is hundreds of people apply for any job posted online. There’s a lot of competition. The New York Fed estimates there are 270,000 unemployed recent college graduates and about 2.3 million underemployed recent college grads.

“Apply to fewer jobs, but be more thoughtful about why you’re applying and what you’re going to say,” recommends Tuan.
